The Wind of the Spirit & The Sails of our Hearts

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”  John 3:8

We believe that…this coming year we will set our eyes on Jesus and position the sails of our heart towards Him, for the wind of the Spirit is about to blow with a force that this planet has not seen before. 2023 will be a year of great acceleration as we align with His direction. I believe we will see things happen faster than humanly possible. This will be like a Nehemiah moment…”And so the wall was completed in fifty-two days…and they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” (Nehemiah 6:15-16)  This was an excerpt from the End of Year letter we recently sent out to everyone.  

The wind of the Spirit is going to blow with greater acceleration this coming year. Our part isn’t to make things happen, but to make the SHIFT into alignment with the Spirit…as we position the sails of our heart.  Like driving a car with a manual transmission, you can step on the gas and accelerate the car, but the engine can only spin so fast and the RPM’s can only go so high before you have to make a SHIFT to the next gear. I sense that God is asking us to shift into a NEW gear as we begin 2023.

We already know that part of this shift has to do with discipleship. But I believe there are also other areas in our lives, in our personal ministries, and in our corporate ministry that will require a SHIFT as well in order to stay in-step with the wind of the Spirit.

In January, we are planning to take 21-days (1/15-2/4) to press into the Lord with prayer and fasting. And with this, I believe the Lord wants to take us into a greater depth of intercession. This will be a great opportunity for us as a church-family to hear Heaven’s strategies for our divine shift in the coming season.

We love you and are grateful to be building God’s kingdom alongside each of you. Thank you for each playing your part in the Body of Christ. Have a blessed New Year and we look forward to having breakfast and worshiping with you on January 1st as we kick off the first day of the year with praise, worship, prayer, and adoration to King Jesus!

May we actively rest under the protection and move in the strength of the Almighty as we position the sails of our heart in the secret place of the Most High in 2023!
