ROCK WEEKLY UPDATE – “Do Not Be Afraid!”

Hello Rock Family,
There are 8 times in the book of Matthew alone where Jesus is quoted saying, “Do not be afraid…”.  It is clear throughout Scripture that fear is the enemy to the Spirit!  The two cannot coexist.  For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! (2 Cor 3:18)  Hebrews 2:15 also tells us that Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of the fear of death!  We are living in an age right now where fear of sickness and death is rampant and has crippled many Christians from living out their destiny in Christ.  Jesus lived on this earth in a time where leprosy was likely the most feared disease.  Those with leprosy had to live a life separated from others…quarantined.  If someone was walking toward a leper, the leper had to identify their condition by covering their upper lip and calling out “Unclean! Unclean!”  Yet, Jesus had no fear of this disease.  Leprosy never affected Him, He affected the lepers!  I love the fact that when the leper came to Jesus in Matthew 8, Jesus didn’t just heal the man, but He reached out his hands, TOUCHED him, and he was immediately healed!  That had to blow the minds of those who were fearful of death and staying at a distance from the leper. When you turn on the light, darkness cannot stay.  We never question whether the darkness will leave when light enters…it just does!  In the same way, when we align with the Holy Spirit and God’s will, the Father’s love rests on us and Holy Spirit boldness and courage comes upon us…and fear cannot stay!    “There is no fear in LOVE. But perfect LOVE casts out fear,… The one who fears is not been perfected in love.”  (1 Jn 4:18)    If fear is motivating your steps, it is time for a download of the Father’s love through the Holy Spirit!   We can’t afford to entertain fear of any kind in our lives!  As the Holy Spirit leads us, we walk in the light, and the Spirit breaks the bonds of fear in our lives so that we can live in our rightful position as sons and daughters of God…loved by God…and joint-heirs with Christ!  So I ask you…is there any fear affecting your daily life decisions?  If so, what are you going to do about it?

“For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a Spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, Abba! Father!”- Rom 8:15 ESV
