Hello Rock Family,
We are expecting some snow this weekend.  We are planning to have a Sunday service regardless of the amount of snow, but if you can’t make it in person, you can click on the link below for our livestream.  Be safe!

The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! (2 Cor 3:17)   I hear people quote this often, but seldom see people walk this out.  If this were being lived out, we would not see so many in the church overwhelmed, in fear, anxious, angry, burdened, disgruntled, hurt, resentful, offended, self-absorbed, etc.  All these negative mindsets I just stated involve SELF.  And while SELF is alive, faith will be overrun by FEAR…shifting our trust from God to worldly situations, circumstances, or our own inabilities.  In all cases, it takes our eyes off of Jesus.  We can say we trust the Lord and that our faith is in God, but actions speak louder than words.  If any of these negative mindsets are having easy access into our lives and thoughts when we face difficulties or ‘attacks’, this is a red flag that our heart and mind are not in a position of trusting in the Lord.   This is what I would define as an “orphan spirit” and ultimately this prevents us from being led by the Spirit…walking in freedom!   This orphan spirit (FEAR and SELF) does not come from God and it can be deadly!

2 Tim 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear (orphan spirit), but He has given us the Spirit of power and the Spirit of love and the Spirit of a sound mind.”  This is a Spirit of Sonship!  Let me briefly expound on this.  Often ‘sound mind’ is translated, ‘self-control’ or ‘self-discipline’.  This is a poor translation.  This word should not include ‘self’!  The Greek word, sóphronismos, actually means ‘rightly walking out God’s will through spiritual sound reasoning’.  ‘Self’ and ‘God’s Will’ never go hand-in-hand!   The knowledge of ‘God’s will’ is what we call spiritual instruction or spiritual revelation.  If we are not living our lives from spiritual instruction and revelation, fear will inevitably enter into our heart and mind and we will begin to act on this fear – leading us outside God’s will, His plan, and His protection.  This is that the enemy loves to do!  It isolates us, shames us, weakens us and divides us…it leads to death.  (Rom 8:6)   God’s Word tells us that ‘sons of God are led by His Spirit’. (Rom 8:14)  So may the Spirit lead us as sons & daughters in Power, in Love, and to where our trust and faith in Jesus is so secure and strong, that it is without limits – so that we may walk in the complete FREEDOM Jesus died for!
“Let it be clear, the Anointed One has set us free – not partially, but completely and wonderfully free!” – Galatians 5:1 TPT
