Miracle Working Power

Quick Announcements:

Joshua 14:10-12 NLT
“Now, as you can see, the Lord has kept me alive and well as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old. I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then. So give me the hill country that the Lord promised me. You will remember that as scouts we found the descendants of Anak living there in great, walled towns. But if the Lord is with me, I will drive them out of the land, just as the Lord said.”

It’s beautiful that when Joshua was 85 years old he was still pursuing the promises of God for his life. I was encouraged today by the legacy of many of our regional church leaders and how they continue to rely on God for their strength, and in turn that strength gives them the ability to fight for and take new territory.

I’m stirred and excited for what God has in store for 2022. I believe it’s a season of stepping out, taking land, and seeing promises fulfilled.

But I want to remind you that these promises aren’t fulfilled by our own efforts–instead it’s our humility and dependence on God that actually brings about His miracle working power.  Look at what the psalmist writes:

Psalm 44:1-8 NLT
O God, we have heard it with our own ears—
our ancestors have told us of all you did in their day,
in days long ago:
You drove out the pagan nations by your power
and gave all the land to our ancestors.
You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.
They did not conquer the land with their swords;
it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory.
It was your right hand and strong arm
and the blinding light from your face that helped them,
for you loved them.
You are my King and my God.  You command victories for Israel.
Only by your power can we push back our enemies;
only in your name can we trample our foes.
I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me.
You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies;
you disgrace those who hate us.
O God, we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name.

Thank you Father God that you are giving us strength as we rely on you to fulfill the promises that we’ve heard from your Holy Spirit as we spend time connected to your heart.

Be blessed in every way,
Pastor Andrew and your Rock Staff
