“Know HIM”
I want to know Him and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. (Phil 3:10)
- Thanksgiving is just around the corner. The Rock (that’s you and me) has the opportunity to bless our community. Our family will be there along with many others to celebrate Thanksgiving with a meal together from 12-2pm. We need help with preparation on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and serving on Thanksgiving Day from 11-12pm for carryout and for dine-in from 12-2pm. We will serve and also get to enjoy an amazing meal together. Our Men’s group will be smoking 40 turkeys next Wednesday for Thanksgiving…and if you haven’t had smoked turkey, you are missing out! 😊 Click Here for more info.
- Join us tonight (Wednesday) at 6:45pm as we seek the heart of the Lord, call upon His name, gain spiritual insight, declare His goodness, take authority over spiritual forces in the heavens, and grow in the knowledge of God as we walk in His ways! I am excited to see what happens in our homes, at The Rock, in our city and state, and across this nation as we gather together with our hearts in alignment with the King – ready for battle.
Dear Rock Family,
There is nothing more important in life than getting to know God. And knowing God is not an intellectual position, but rather, it is a spiritual wisdom and understanding of His will coupled with the action of doing His will, which is the good works that come from activated faith. In this, we will live in the fullness of God’s abundant grace and peace, being constantly strengthened by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:2) This is the “abundant” life that Jesus came to give every one of us!
Moses realized that if he could learn God’s ways (His will), that he would get to know God and the favor of the Lord (Holy Spirit grace) would rest on his life. Read Exodus 33:13. Apostle Paul later penned something very similar to the church of Colosse in Colossians 1:9-10, “We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of God’s will through the wisdom and understanding given by the Spirit, so you may live a life worthy or the Lord and please Him in every way – bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” In short, this is saying: “Get to know God’s will so you can walk in His ways and bear good fruit, and in this you will grow in KNOWING God!
I believe Jesus is calling us into a greater place of hungering and thirsting for Him. The Word says that if we seek God with all our heart we will find Him…we will get to KNOW Him! I love the words of King Solomon:
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” Proverbs 2:1-5
Lord, may we be a people who seek to know all your ways. May you lead us by your Spirit as we hunger and thirst for more of you. Give us grace to live our lives abiding. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear. And may the light of Jesus shine in our hearts as you open the eyes of our heart so that this light would reveal the knowledge of the glory of God through Jesus!
