•  Baptisms are THIS Sunday (8/8)!  If you would like to be baptized, please contact us at Family@TheRock.org.  I believe there is a cleansing of the church happening and being baptized is an awesome way to declare publicly what the Lord is doing in our hearts and minds!  “Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?  Who may stand in His holy place?  Those who have clean hands and a pure heart.” (Ps 24:3-4)

Those who live according to the flesh (our sinful nature) have their minds fixed on what the flesh desires and will only pursue what benefits themselves.  But those who live according to the Holy Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires and are moved to pursue the spiritual realities of God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will.  So when your mind is governed and led by the flesh (sinful nature), this leads to death.  But when your mind is governed by the Spirit, you find supernatural life and peace.
Rock family- Christ lives His life in you!  So even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, Christ’s life-giving Spirit imparts life to you because you are fully accepted by God through the righteousness of Christ you have received.  So if the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, know this: that He who raised Christ from the dead will gives life to your mortal body through His Spirit, who now lives in you!  So don’t continue to live your life governed by the flesh (your sinful nature), or you will die.  But if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds and corrupt ways of the flesh, you will live and experience His abundant life! (The two paragraphs above are a mix of translations of Romans  8:5,6,10,11,13)

This past Sunday morning the Lord gave me a word for the church of His pursuit and love for us as I was meditating on Romans 8.  This is the INVITATION I heard and wrote down:
Let my Spirit woo you, let it move you, let me take you to places you have never been. I am taking you to the higher ground.  It is a ground in which you cannot stand alone.  It requires me to sustain you.  At this altitude you need my oxygen, you need my sustaining life. You can live at the lower levels on your own strength, but you were created to soar to the higher places – on wings of eagles.  You were created for my Spirit to move you and lead you into my ways, into my plans, and into my very unique purpose for your life.  I intricately created you in my secret place.  My heart leapt for joy when I put my plans and my design in you.  I made you to look, to act, to feel, to move, and to love just like me…your heavenly Father.  I gave you my Son so that you could run boldly into my arms. And I put my Spirit within you so that I have my dwelling within my creation. I breathe life into you and my power, my strength, my love are the life-sustaining nutrients you need. More than oxygen. So draw near to me.  Draw close to my heart and know my thoughts.  Know my ways. And know my love. Drink me in and let my Words wash over you like a spring rain soaking the ground and igniting the dormant life-seeds that I have placed within you. Now is your time to arise and shine. I will place my Spirit within you and my glory will be upon you.  So shine brightly.  As you look to me, your light will never dim, but will continue to increase.  For you are the Light of my Glory as my Light shines in you…as my Son shines in you…as my Love shines in you.  So shine brightly and explode the thick darkness that has surrounded my precious lost lambs. I am calling you to the higher place.  So come away with me!  It is time.  I have given you this very time!
