……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… ROCK WEEKLY UPDATE – “God is in the Journey” |
||
Hello Rock Family, In my “busy” life, I am often so focused on getting through the storm or getting to my destination, that I miss the fact that God is in the midst of my journey. The Lord is lovingly dealing with me in this area. And I have a sense that I am not the only one. I want to encourage us that our heavenly Father is much more interested in walking with us in the journey than getting us to our destination. I once heard someone say, if we move, God will wait patiently. But if we wait patiently, God will move. Waiting on the Lord requires a trust and it is in this trust that He becomes our shield to protect and guide us! Proverbs 30:5 “He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”We can’t afford to get distracted or discouraged in this season. Remember that greater is He who is in us than the one in this world. We are learning how to trust and obey in the one who is inside us! And in this, we will become overcomers! 1 John 5:3-4 “This is love for God: to obey His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world.” This Wednesday evening (today!) we will spend some time identifying the very things that God is stirring in our hearts. Our Creator has put things inside us that are to be “activated” in this very season. And we want to help this happen! The Lord is awakening His church and I believe we are in a “now” season where things are going to accelerate faster than we can imagine. Our part is to say “yes”…“here am I send me!” He will take care of the rest. On Sunday we will be going out and I would ask that you begin to seek the Lord and ask for His plan. I have been astounded by all the testimonies and amazing things God is doing in and through each of us, but I also don’t want to get comfortable. I am praying for our intentionality to increase this Sunday and that we would make the very most of every opportunity that presents itself as we align with God’s will/commands and move according to the Spirit. No Sunday evening service this week. See below. IMPORTANT items for you to know about this week: WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE (6/17) 6:45pm – In-Person & Online WEDNESDAY NIGHT (6/17) – YOUTH BASE CAMP (6th Grade – 12th Grade) – In-Person at 7:00pm Thursday Evening (6/18) Hot Meals & Saturday Morning (6/20) Food Bank Distribution SUNDAY MORNING (6/21) PRE-SERVICE PRAYER 8:15-9:15am – **In-Person & On-line** SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE (6/21) @ 9:45am – **In-Person & On-line** *NOTE: We will NOT have a Sunday Evening Service this Sunday. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers! Please spend the time with family, friends, and enemies this Sunday evening. I am praying John 17:23 over us this week…that we may become perfectly one and completely united so that all in the world may know that the Father gave His son Jesus – showing us His love for us that matches the love for His son! May His love overwhelm us! Need Prayer, Help, Feel Alone, or Disconnected? The Rock Food Bank – Saturday Distribution (9am-Noon) & Free Hot Dinners – Thursday Evening |

Hello Rock Family, And let me say, I am so honored and blessed to be on this journey with such an amazing family of people. You all amaze me constantly in your faith, trust and willingness to “go for it”! Thank you for trusting the Lord in this season. We are seeing more fruit than EVER! This past Sunday we experienced more salvations, re-commitments to Jesus, healings, prayers, and people just being loved and cared for than we have ever seen on a Sunday. And I believe this is just the start. God has so much more for us as we continue to go into the deep waters, the uncharted territory, and trust His leading! With each meeting, please continue to follow the appropriate guidelines for Douglas County so that we keep everyone safe and limit the spread of any virus or sickness. And if you are considered high-risk, we would ask that you take additional measures to protect yourself. We will continue to provide on-line viewing if you believe it best to remain at home during this time or if you are in a self-quarantine. IMPORTANT items for you to know about this week: WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE (6/3) 6:45pm – In-Person & Online WEDNESDAY NIGHT (6/3) – YOUTH BASE CAMP (6th Grade – 12th Grade) – In-Person at 7pm! We love you! Isaiah 59:21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever,” says the Lord. THE ROCK – MANY CHANGES & HAPPENINGS THIS WEEKHello Rock Family, In preparation for Pentecost Sunday, we are calling a 3-hour prayer time this Saturday (5/30) in The Rock sanctuary from 2pm to 5pm. We understand the importance and significance of the Kairos time we are in and believe that prayer will align us and help unify our hearts with what the Lord desires in this time. Also, we are going to be having a SPECIAL Sunday Night – Celebration Worship Service THIS Sunday (5/31) at 7pm in our sanctuary. Please come back and join us at 7pm as we hear testimonies from the day and then take the opportunity to worship God with ALL our heart, soul, mind, and strength! Each time we meet, please continue to follow the appropriate government guidelines for Colorado and Douglas County so that we keep everyone safe and limit the spread of any virus or sickness. And if you are considered high-risk, we would ask that you take additional measures to protect yourself. We will continue to provide on-line viewing if you believe it best to remain at home during this time or if you are in a self-quarantine. I know some of you were out of town last weekend. I pray you all had a wonderful Memorial weekend. Due to how quickly we are shifting, I would highly encourage you to watch last Sunday’s message (5/24) before tonight’s service if possible. PS: Please Review Our Precautionary Measures for This Sunday: We will take precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus and keep everyone healthy. If you plan to join us in the sanctuary, we’re asking that you follow the current recommended social distancing practices and CDC guidelines. If you need to review the guidelines as they pertain to Communities of Faith prior to attending on Sunday, see link: https://www.cdc.gov/ In addition, we will adhere to the applicable May 15, 2020 Guidelines for Places of Worship that were submitted to the State as a variance to State guidelines by our Douglas County Commissioners and approved by Tri-County Health. This includes the recommendation of limiting the number of people to 50% of the fire code capacity of the facility (including staff, volunteers and congregants) and adhering to current recommended state physical distancing practices, which may further reduce recommended capacity. The intent of The Rock staff is to help keep everyone safe and healthy while providing the opportunity to gather and worship together. Please help us keep everyone safe and healthy! For those that are considered high-risk including the elderly and those with specific underlying medical conditions, we would recommend that you continue to shelter at home or take additional precautions if planning to attend in person. If anyone has COVID-19 symptoms, we would ask that you remain at home. We love you! |

Hello Rock Family,
This Sunday Pastor Zach will be sharing a very inspiring message that aligns with the direction the Lord is leading us as a church body. It will be Pastor Zach & Nicole’s last Sunday on staff with The Rock. What an honor to have the opportunity to raise up, and now send out some amazing young kingdom leaders as they pursue the passion the Lord has given them to help start a church in downtown Denver. Pastor Kristi has been working with the youth for some time now and will be stepping in as the interim youth pastor with the assistance of an amazing well-established team. We will also be honoring our graduates this Sunday.
Announcement! I would like to invite you into 3 days of fasting & prayer starting THIS Monday, May 18th and ending with a Zoom Prayer Meeting on Wednesday night, May 20th, in place of our regular Wednesday night service.

This is a SPECIAL “kairos” time and there are a number of significant changes that are taking place with The Rock and things are moving quickly! I keep being reminded of the word from Chuck Pierce… “For the Lord says, many changes are going to accelerate. Even over the next 3-4 months there will be a great acceleration of changes…the church will connect in ways it has never connected before, advance in ways it has never advanced before. It will cause a new move and a new prototype!”
We believe the Lord is giving us a new “wineskin/prototype” for His Church as you have heard from Kristi and me over the past two Sundays. If you missed these two messages, Please watch them! They will give context to the direction the Lord is taking us and bring clarity to the changes. Links are here:

We have been talking about crossing the Jordan for some time now. In Joshua 1 the Israelites were told, “Prepare!…Three days from now you will cross the Jordan River and will go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you…” I believe the key to our preparation for what the Lord is leading us into is prepared and humble hearts…purified hearts! And what better way than to consecrate ourselves with three days of fasting and prayer.
The purpose of the fast will be two-fold. (Ezra 8 gives insight into this)
- We are to “humble ourselves before our God” which means a repentance and acknowledgment of our dependence on Him.
- We need to ask for God’s guidance and safety on this journey as we embrace the new wineskins that the Lord has for His church.

Hi Rock Family,
I pray that you are all doing well and enjoying the beauty of the Lord’s creation and spending time in His presence. Sometimes we need the reminder that our true rest doesn’t come from sleep or a vacation, but from being with Jesus. Jesus says “Come to me and I will give you rest.” Let’s make it a priority over television, movies, emails, facebook, etc…to spend time with Jesus. Make Him #1 in your life this week! I want us to hear those words of Jesus to Mary in Luke 10, “You have chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from you.” There is no better place to be than in the presence of our King!
Here are a few IMPORTANT items for you to know for this week:
