Holy Faith
“But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most HOLY FAITH by praying every moment in the Spirit. Fasten your hearts to the love of God and receive the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives us eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21 TPT
There is an activation of holy faith that occurs when we engage in the mind of the Spirit through prayer. It positions the eyes of our heart towards Jesus so that we know His will, receive the love of God, and walk in the empowering grace of Christ!
Last Sunday Pastor Marcus talked to us about entering into 40 days of prayer leading up to Easter. I want to encourage all of us to increase our prayer life over the next 40 days, both individually and corporately. This is not just a good idea, but I believe God is calling His people into prayer. Many godly leaders from around the nation have felt a corporate call of 40 days of prayer – all at the same time…including Lou Engle, Cindy Jacobs, Pastor Greg Laurie, Francis Chan, and Asbury University and Christian campuses around the nation, just to name a few.
Throughout history, there have been Kairos seasons when God’s people were called to prayer. We don’t always know the reason why, but this is where we walk by faith and not by sight. I encourage you to join us at The Rock for prayer at some of our corporate prayer times: Tuesdays at 7am, noon, and 7pm; Wednesdays at 7pm, and other days throughout the week. I promise these times of prayer will not be wasted time, but will engage your spirit and give you godly wisdom and the peace of Jesus in a time when it is greatly needed! It is imperative in the days we are in that we set ourselves apart from the worldly desires and engage in God’s plan and will for your lives. 1 Peter 1:15 tells us that just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do…and live your lives as strangers to this world in reverent fear of the Lord. Spiritual prayer helps us to set ourselves apart from the things of this world.
On January 6th in a time of prayer, the Lord impressed the following message on my heart and I pray this encourages you and moves you into a greater faith…into a Holy Faith. May we engage our hearts with the Holy Spirit, who has been put in our hearts by God, so that we may walk in lockstep with the Spirit every moment of each day through an active disposition of prayer. (2 Cor 1:22 & Gal 5:25)
“We are entering a new transition that requires great faith – a ‘let it be so’ type of faith…not a faith in our own abilities, so that when we hear the Spirit, we will not question or delay. For it is a time to move, but move with the Spirit. Move at the sound of His voice. This is an Abiding Faith. It is a Yoked Faith. It is an Obedient Faith. It is a faith marked by those who will do extraordinary things – ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit’ says the Lord. This is a Humble Faith. One that is not held back by the reasoning of this world…by what we see with our own eyes. Lord, open our eyes to see what you see, tune our ears to your Spirit, and align our minds to Christ’s. May we be in position for the faith transition! That we would be sent out with joy and be led forth with peace.
I love you and look forward to being in prayer with you over these coming days!
