Hello Rock Church

It was a pleasure sharing with you last Sunday. I hope you have had a fruitful week meditating on John 15. As we abide, may we respond to the call to love one another as Christ has loved us and may we talk with God about what our Gardener desires to do in the branch that is your life.

My hope is that you are not discouraged by what God may be pruning or removing from your life, but instead that you are actually encouraged by how He has “appointed you to go and bear much fruit, and fruit that remains.” (John 15:8,16)

As we make a conscious effort to abide in (or remain in) Christ (John 15:5), I pray that you are filled with the grace and power of the Holy Spirit that overflows in good works and Godly character. 

Father God, thank you for calling us out of the world and setting us apart (like a raised garden bed) in order that we would bring you glory by producing much fruit. We surrender every part of our lives to your inspection and your pruning/training. We ask that you would help us in the areas of our lives that have not been fruitful and bless us with humility and grace so that we do not frustrate your work in our heart and soul. Amen.

This Sunday, we have a very special guest speaker, Leif Hetland, who will be ministering. In the times that I’ve heard him speak, he’s always done an incredible job of teaching to the tension between receiving God’s free grace gifts and renewing our mind so that we can partner with Him as productive co-laborers. I know you’ll be blessed by hearing his encouragement to our church.
