“Gain Understanding & Humble Yourself”

We are finishing a 3-day corporate fast tonight and will have a special time of worship and prayer with guest speaker Brian Fenimore starting at 6:45pm.  The Lord is revealing much in these days and we are feeling the acceleration of the Spirit’s movement for Colorado.

This Sunday we will doing baptisms during worship as we celebrate new life with Jesus.  If you would like to get baptized, please email us at family@therock.org.

This Sunday is Day-Light Savings.  This is the perfect week to join us for pre-service prayer at 8:15am in the Prayer Room behind the sanctuary.  🙂

Last Sunday, we were delayed in starting the live-stream.  If you were unable to watch on-line, click here for a link to the service.

Dear Rock Family,

“By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundation, by UNDERSTANDING He set the heavens in place.”  Prov 3:19

Do not forsake wisdom, for she will protect you.  Love her and she will watch over you.  Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.  Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”  Prov 4:6-7

Last week I felt the Lord prompt me to provoke us to “Know the Battle Plan”.   I believe the Lord has us in final preparations for something amazing.  But we must increase in spiritual wisdom and understanding so that when God moves by His Spirit, we will be and remain in-step with Him!  There is an acceleration of His movement that requires discernment and obedience.  We need spiritual eyes to see what He is doing and ears to hear what He is saying.  I feel a weight of importance on this.  Imagine being part of D-Day in World War II when the Allied forces invaded northern France with a beach landing in Normandy.  These soldiers were about to head into the battle of their life.  Everything they had trained for was coming down to this very day.  Now can you imagine as a soldier saying, “I have had a lot of training and I am very experienced as a soldier and that should be enough.  I don’t need to know the battle plans for D-Day.”  No one in their right mind would respond like this.  I am quite certain that those soldiers were listening as if their life depended on it…because it did!

In a very similar way, we are in a time where God is about to break forth on the earth with a major wave of His Spirit.  In addition to our knowledge of the Word and our experience as Believers, we MUST gain wisdom and understanding of what the Lord is doing here and now.  Jesus tells us to follow Him.  How do we do this?  Do we go to Israel and literally walk in His footsteps?  That might be fun, but that was not His intent.  Jesus made it clear that while on this earth, He moved and spoke as the Spirit led Him.

“I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself.  He can do only what He sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”  John 5:19

There have been many prophetic words over The Rock that seem to be culminating to this very season!  If we are in that time, I want to make sure we understand the time we are in and know what to do.   In 1 Chronicles 12, King David had many warriors armed for battle that came to him to ensure the kingdom was turned over him. There were 340,000 in all, but of those there were 200 who were called the Sons of Issachar.  And it says that they “understood the times and knew what Israel should do”.  These men were critical to discerning the Lord’s strategies and battle plans for the 340,000 men who had come to David.  In the same way, we need to be “Sons of Issachar” who understand the time we are in and what we are to do in this time.

Daniel was a man with great wisdom who was discerning of what the Lord was doing in that time, because he knew the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet regarding the desolation of Jerusalem that was to last seventy years.  Daniel responded to this prophetic word in prayer for 21 days. Then an angel came to him and said, “Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.”  (Daniel 10:12)   This is amazing!  We see here that gaining understanding and humbling ourselves before God (complete surrender and dependence on God) bring us to a place of alignment with heaven and positions us in authority to release heaven (God’s plans) to earth!

I pray that we would be aware of this special time we are in and respond by gaining understanding by the Spirit and walk humbly with our God, in a place of complete submission, surrender, and obedience to His ways.  We must know His ways and walk in them!  In this we will see the glory of God revealed on the earth!

We love you!
