Everything I Learned I Have Made Known to You

“You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
-John 15:14-15

Have you noticed how quickly things have been accelerating and have changed in the recent years?  For example, when iPhone first came out 15 years ago, it was amazing and quickly captured a majority of the market share!  Since then 12 more versions have come out and every version has more than doubled its previous capability. It is said that you would need to purchase THOUSANDS of the original iPhones to match the capability of ONE current iPhone 13! It took thousands of years to unveil the first iPhone and then in just 15 years, the technology of the iPhone has increased over 1,000x!  Just one of today’s iPhones has more computer power than all the computers together that were used to put man on the moon. Things are accelerating more quickly than ever! 

In a similar way, the Lord is moving His church into new paradigms…new mindsets…new spiritual understandings. It isn’t that things were wrong before, but God is increasing the knowledge of His glory on the earth. (Hab 2:14)  And this is necessary for where He is taking His church and for the things that will be required of His people.  God is not looking to use Version 1 of His church to accomplish what is needed now.  We need to be upgraded!  And some of us need a few upgrades.  😊   Lord, we pray that you will give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know you even more! (Eph 1:17)  This was Apostle Paul’s prayer for us…why?…because he knew that we were going to need to be “upgraded” for our callings and to operate in the greater power of the Spirit…the latter glory! (Hag 2:9)

Try and imagine using an iPhone 1 now to do what you need to do. You would be so frustrated at its inability to function at the speed and capability needed for today’s world.  Sadly we can often get stuck back in the “iPhone 1” spiritual way of thinking and in our level of faith. We believe in God and are “acquainted with the basic teachings about righteousness”, but the writer of Hebrews tells us that this is milk and that it is only through constant use of the Word (obedience) that we are upgraded in spiritual maturity.  (Heb 5:11-14)  I may be a little extreme in this next statement, but I want to make a point…We know God is good and that He loves us, but when is the last time you walked on water?  Read Matthew 14:22-33.  Amazing, right!? But, I don’t believe Jesus walked on water to show us how amazing He is.  I believe He was showing us that ALL things are possible to those who believe. Again, when Jesus feeds roughly 20,000 people (5,000 men) with five small loaves of bread and two fish, He isn’t showing off, He is showing His church a way of life, a new spiritual mindset, that He has for us.   

I have said this before, but I am going to say it again…We are in amazing times!  The Church has accomplished many amazing things in the past, seen the glory of the Lord, had many revivals, but things are about to shift.  The glory of the Lord is about to be released in greater measure than ever before. There is an outpouring coming and heavenly decrees are about to be unleashed.  I believe this will release great angelic activity that will excite, shock and even offend many believers! We have seen a recent shaking in the earth and read about past shakings and outpourings (revivals) that have changed the fabric of our society, but I believe the Lord is letting us know in various ways that what we are about to see is like nothing we have ever known, seen or heard of before!  We are going to need an “upgrade”! 

In the coming seasons we are going to need more of God’s grace, more of His favor, more of His joy, more of His strength, more of His wisdom, more of His love…you get the point. We are going to need more of Jesus moving in and through us. And this can only happen by abiding in His LOVE. Apart from His love, we have no chance! And we can only abide in this love if you love others in the same way Jesus loved us. Which requires that our lives are fully laid down for Him and for others.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.” John 14:12-13

Let’s press into the Lord, walk in humility, and abide in His love!
