“Come, Let Us Go Up To The Mountain”
See some important announcements just below!
This past week we have had some amazing Spirit-led services – Sunday & Wednesday Youth services…that did not go as planned. God showed up in a powerful way. I want to encourage you to come this evening at 6:45pm as we feel the Lord is inviting us into stewardship of His work. This evening we will be focusing on setting our hearts before the Lord through worship, prayer, intercession, and declaring His Word over the Church and the lost.
Dear Rock Family,
“In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be established as highest among the mountains!…COME, LET US GO UP to this mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths.” (Isaiah 2:2-3)
There is an invitation of the Lord in this Kairos time to come up in to the presence of the Lord and into a place of abiding rest in His ways, so that we may walk in the very footsteps He has created us for. He is inviting us to have the vision of His eyes and the ears to hear His voice. Our response to this invitation begins with a heart of repentance and a turning from our own ways – our habits, our behaviors, our traditions…even the things that we are ‘doing for God’. There is a river of life that flows directly from the throne of God and He is inviting us to enter this river! (Rev 22/Ezek 47) This is not a stream where we wade in ankle or knee deep, still able to control our position and movements (our own ways). The river the Lord is inviting us into is a rushing river that goes up to our neck and will overtake us! If we get in, we will have to let go of our ‘perceived’ control and completely trust the Lord and the move of His Spirit. As we are ‘Spirit-led’, will we fear the Lord more than the situations around us and the response of people…even our family and closest friends? God is pouring out His Spirit on ALL people, but only those whose hearts are prepared will move into His ways and into the River!
With all my heart, I want us all to move in His ways! This will ‘confound the wisdom of the wise’ and ‘frustrate the intelligence of the intelligent’ (1 Cor 1:19). Which means that we will face many people who will come against you or speak against what you are doing or saying. People not in this river will be offended at those who are in the river because it won’t make sense. 1 Cor 2:14 tells us that those not Spiritually-minded will lack understanding and will perceive the things of the Spirit as foolishness. We must remain loving, humble, and dependent on Jesus in these times. Our hearts must be so tender toward the Lord that regardless of what or who comes against us, we will continue to love, forgive, bless, and do the good works (walk in His ways) that have been prepared for us by our God. I pray that we, as a people who seek the face of God with our whole heart, will find Him and be so grounded in Him that nothing will move us from His ways! We will be steadfast, trusting in the Lord! (Ps 112:7) May we go up to the mountain of the Lord! May we come up to into the Spirit and may we have the mind of Christ as we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms. This invitation is for ALL, but only few will respond. For the gate is small and the road beyond is narrow that leads to true life – a life in the Spirit…in the river. (Matt 7:13-14) May we be those who respond!
We love you!
Pastors Mike & Kristi and your Rock Staff family
