Be Encouraged

In this season where our time and attention is being pulled in so many directions, I feel the Lord saying “Be encouraged, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”. 

This is a season when we could easily become distracted and discouraged by the many demands on our lives and the crazy events happening all over the world. We all have more obligations and pressures than ever and it seems that every day there is a new war, earthquake or major tragedy. But the Lord longs to be the lifter of our heads and the sustainer of our strength. His plan is still at work on the earth and in our lives, and his promises will never fail. (Josh 21:45)

As Jesus was giving the disciples the Great Commission, which was a demanding task, He finished with a promise, “And be sure of this, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt 28:20 NLT). In a moment when the disciples could feel overwhelmed, inadequate, untrained and under-equipped, the Lord did not give them a planner, a tool, a smart phone,  a “how to” book, or even more time; he gave them a promise.  The promise that he would be with them always, and this promise is for us as well! 

As you are going throughout your week you may be tempted to feel overwhelmed, inadequate, and underprepared, but BE ENCOURAGED!  The promise of Jesus to the disciples is a promise to us as well. He is with us always, even to the end of the age!  

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, would you confirm your promise that you are with me right now? I set my heart and my mind to believe your promise and to rest in you.  Thank you that you are with me in every situation I face and help me to slow down and listen to your voice.  I love you.
