Ask For Rain In Times Of Rain

“Ask rain from the LORD in the season of the spring rain, from the LORD who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field.”  -Zechariah 10:1 ESV

Rock Family and Friends, these past few days of prayer have been such a blessing.  We are so thankful for each of you who took time off work, stayed up late, and rose early so that you could be a part of our prayer gatherings this past Sunday/Monday.  In going low, humbling ourselves, crying out to Him in prayer, and seeking His face, and turning from our own ways, we know that our God will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land (2 Chron 7:14).  God is faithful and He will pour out a blessing we cannot contain… it will go far beyond our reach!

As I think about what is on the Lord’s heart for our church, city, state, and country, it always brings me back to prayer. The magnitude of what the Lord wants to do is beyond any person’s ability to accomplish and so we must pray. “Prayer begets revival, which begets more prayer” (Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire). As we increase our time in prayer, we are seeing the beginning signs of a glow of revival in our midst, with small stirrings of awakening happening. These confirmations seem to be like arrows pointing to what the Lord has on the horizon. I truly believe we are on the edge of a great wave of revival and we, as God’s people, are being called to pray at an ever greater level in order that we are in position to usher in this wave.

Like me, you may have felt challenged by our recent increase  in our times of prayer & fasting. And though these times require more of us, by saying ‘yes’, we are experiencing a grace to pray together.  It is as though we are paddling into this wave of revival one ‘prayer gathering’ at a time, and as one body.  We are becoming a living sacrifice to the Lord and it is very pleasing to Him! (Romans 12:1)

As Zechariah 10:1 says, “in the times of rain, pray for rain”.  These times of prayer are stirring hearts. So let us pray even more, believing that He is moving and that revival is cresting in our families, our neighborhoods, our cities, our state, and our nation.

Father, thank you that as we seek you in prayer, we will find you.  You are so faithful to teach us and strengthen us for all that you have in your heart to accomplish in this season.  We humble ourselves to your leadership in our lives. We commit to pray with new fervor in this season.  Lord, would You send revival and let it begin in us.  Amen!
