Victory Comes To Those Who Follow His Voice
Proverbs 2:6-7 “For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.”
Proverbs 4:4, 7b “Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live….Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost you all you have, get understanding.”
Over these past three days, The Rock has been in a sweet time of praying and fasting…taking 6 hours yesterday to pray and fast together as a staff and seek the Lord’s face. There has been much insight, wisdom, and understanding that has come out of these intimate times of waiting on the Lord. The heart of our church family is to be a “generation of those who will seek the Lord” (Ps 24:6) with all our heart, mind, soul and body and then respond in obedient action to His voice! May we never use our own wisdom, experiences, and understanding to guide us. But may we wait for the Lord, actively pressing into His heart through prayer, listening, fasting, worship, and meditating on His Word, so that we tune our minds and hearts to the Holy Spirit’s movement.
Yesterday I wrote down what I felt the Lord spoke over us as a church. This is not a “thus says the Lord” but a heart impression that I tried to put into words. May it bless you!
As we were in a time of listening, I felt the Lord’s pleasure over us as a father watches his son and is so proud of him. But I also felt that the hand of the Lord was going to move swiftly to align our hearts with His heart. Greater intimacy is going to be required for this coming season as “storms” continue to increase. Many boats (what we have established and built to protect and withstand the storms) are going to be crushed and we are going to need to move by the Spirit with boldness and quickness, being quick to listen and quick to respond! He is going to increase the glory in the house, but we are not to be enamored by the glory. We are to let the glory strengthen us for our calling, for our mission. We must not allow busyness or those who have man’s wisdom to take us off track. This is the time to be steadfast, standing firm in our faith, and being grounded by His Word and prayer. Lighting will strike, but it will not harm us if we are grounded! The ways of the Lord are not going to be obvious and we will NOT know them even though we are close to Him. We must listen to the Spirit and not allow our own intellect to compromise the Word of the Lord. For His ways are not our ways. It is time to seek the Lord while He may be found and call on Him NOW, while He is near. (Is 55:6) As we give our ear to the Lord and then obey His voice (walk in His ways), His grace will empower and strengthen us and enlighten our hearts. When we feel the exhaustion, the heaviness, the anxiety, let it be clear that we have stepped out of alignment (His grace), and have begun to use our own strength, wisdom, and might. May this not be. But may the Lord lead us in EVERY step, as we inquire of Him and His ways…even in the simplest of tasks.
Lord Jesus, lead us into your ways. May every step we take be in step with your Spirit. May you be a shield to us and give us victory in every battle we face as we walk upright and blameless before you. May your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
May you be His victorious ones! I love you.
