Growing In Grace
Good afternoon Rock Family,
We are in a season where the Lord is inviting us to grow in the grace of God. This is how Peter ends his letter in 2 Peter 3:17-18.
“You therefore, beloved,… take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:17-18
One aspect of this grace is empowering strength from the Holy Spirit for the assignments God has given us as we saw in Zechariah 3 and 4 this Sunday. The Lord rebukes the accuser (Zech. 3:2), cleanses us from our iniquity (Zech. 3:4-5), calls us to wholehearted devotion (Zech. 3:6-8), and then promises empowering grace through the person of the Holy Spirit for the work of the kingdom He has entrusted to us. (Zech 4:6-7)
The Lord is giving new assignments and strengthening existing assignments at The Rock. As we step into obedience with what the Lord is asking of us, know that there will be mountains (obstacles) that stand in our way. We are called not to draw back in fear (2 Tim. 1:6-7), but to shout “Grace, Grace” to the mountain and see it removed from before us by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Zech. 4:7)
Jesus said it like this in Matthew 17.
“Truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there, ‘ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matt. 17:20)
Be encouraged that the Lord sees your “yes” and His heart is rejoicing as you put action to what He has called you to do. (Zech. 4:10) When nobody else sees, He sees, and when we are walking in obedience, His heart is filled with joy and delight. Let His joy be our strength for our kingdom assignment. (Neh. 8:10)
May the Lord bless you and may you increase in grace and peace!
