“Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:6
We have been in 3 days of corporate prayer and fasting and although it is always a struggle not to eat, we have been so spiritually blessed during this time. As we have been praying into discipleship and asking the Lord for strategies in preparation for an outpouring of the Spirit, we have felt the beautiful conviction of the Spirit as he reveals the Father’s heart and leads us into a greater alignment with God’s kingdom plans and purposes.
This past Tuesday (yesterday) during the evening time of prayer in the tent, we saw another beautiful double-rainbow that was unusually vibrant! (See attached picture) And at the same time Pastor Andrew heard the Lord say, “We are on the edge of an outpouring!” I believe this is significant as the Lord is giving us a heads-up to prepare the way of the Lord. There are final preparations of a wineskin that needs to be in place. In this, the Lord is asking us to prepare for many unbelievers to come into the kingdom…more than we can imagine. This is exciting, yet at the same time I believe this will require a new mindset of discipleship! There was an amazing word given to The Rock back on 2/3/2016 that I was reminded of it today. There is a section that reads, “There is a much greater outpouring and advancement of the Kingdom coming. For us to be ready for this new wine, we will have to prepare new wineskins. The things that have worked in the past to bring us to our current level of presence, understanding and power will not cut it to be in line to receive the fullness of this next wave as it is so great and so powerful. We need to question all the things we do, structures we have, our level of prayer, repentance, etc. and ask the Father, in this day of new beginnings, how would you have us proceed and what must we do to prepare the way for the Lord?”
At least 20 times in the Gospels Jesus tells us to ‘Follow me’. Even His very last command in the book of John is “You follow me!” And yet I believe we may have overcomplicated this command with worldly and western ideals that have shifted us out of alignment…and this will make us tired and weary! Jesus promises that when we come to Him, when we follow Him, He is gentle and humble in heart and gives us rest for our soul. (Matt 11:28-30) Yet in this season, it seems like much of the body of Christ is “weary in doing good”. I would include myself in this. 🙂 There can be a sense of overwhelmingness with all the “good things” we are doing. But I am convinced that Jesus, by His Spirit, is leading us into His heart and His ways as we continue to surrender our lives to Him, learn from Him, and then walk in full obedience to His ways. I want to challenge us as a church body in this season to re-evaluate everything we are “doing for Jesus”. Let’s ask the Lord to reveal any areas that need a re-alignment. Remember that He is gentle and humble in heart, so I believe He will adjust our direction with grace.
“And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matt 4:19
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” Jn 10:27
May we hear His voice, follow Him and become fishers of men!
Love you all!
