Ready for His Return?
Hey Rock Church Family,
I hope you’re walking in peace and purpose this week!
I have been meditating on Matthew 25 this week. Jesus tells three powerful parables about the Kingdom of Heaven that all point to one important question: Are we truly ready for His return?
These parables cut straight to the heart. They challenge us to examine the condition of our lives — not just what we say we believe, but how we’re actually living in light of the King coming back. It’s going to be honest, encouraging, and I believe it will stir something fresh in all of us.
These parables don’t just warn us — they invite us to take an honest look at our lives. They challenge us to examine whether we’re living with hearts that are truly prepared, faithfully stewarding what He’s entrusted to us, and loving others with the compassion of Christ. It moves beyond surface-level faith and calls us to a deeper, more intentional way of living until He comes back.
Ultimately in the end, we are either sheep of the Shepherd OR Goats of this age. The sheep will remain with the Shepherd for eternity, and the Shepherd will SEPARATE the Goats in protection of his flock. He will not have mixture in his Kingdom. What I’m seeing is God is simply going to allow us to be what we “are”, realized for eternity, not who we present ourselves to be. The outward appearance can only go so far, as he knows our heart, thinking, and daily devotion intimately. It brings me into reverence knowing nothing can be hidden from Him, and every part of my life will be accountable to His “sorting” process. I have been sensing and accepting an invitation from the Lord to give Him full access to sort through my life now and remove my “goat-like” tendencies. I want to be a sheep of His pasture. This is sobering, but a needed message for the world we’re in.
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for a long time or you’re still figuring out what faith in Jesus looks like, there’s a word here for you. Live every day with expectation for His return.
With hope,
Colten May and your Rock Staff
