“Know the Battle Plan”

This past Sunday was another very special time in the presence of the Holy Spirit. There is a hunger and thirst for the Lord that is increasing and the glory of the Lord is coming down in greater measure.  This hunger and thirst create a gravity that pulls down on heaven. “Your kingdom come, your will be done (battle plan), on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt 6:10)  I want to encourage you to come this evening at 6:45pm as we press into the heart of the Father and get His battle plan! 

 

Dear Rock Family,

We are in a battle for lives and we must remember that we have an adversary who wants to kill, steal, and destroy. The Day of the Lord is drawing near.  It is time for the Church to put on the armor of light. It is time to clothe ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ! (Rom 13)  We can’t afford to live our lives as the world lives.  We need to know the battle plan of the Lord!

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

This is the second most quoted Scripture in the Bible.  I love that people know this verse and that it gives us encouragement, but the problem is that very few know the next two verses, which are the conditional statements that enact the amazing plans of God in our lives.  It is also interesting that the Lord doesn’t actually tell us His plans in verse 11.  He is informing us that His plans are good.  That they won’t harm us, but will prosper us and give us hope and a future.  It isn’t until later in the chapter that God unveils His plans.  But again, these plans are conditional upon calling on the Lord, praying to Him, and seeking Him with all our heart.

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jer 29:12-13)

Two weeks ago we talked about having Heaven’s perspective and then last week we followed up with a call to intercession.  These are not just fun topics to discuss, but are critical in this time to obtaining the battle plan and entering into this plan the Lord has for us.  Without His plans, we will quite certainly become fearful and anxious when the storms of this world arise and come upon us.  But “in the presence of the Lord there is a fullness of joy.” (Ps 16:11)   And the Lord’s presence is His Spirit and the Spirit will guide us into all truth (into the battle plan). (Jn 16:13)

I am in awe that we serve a God who not only gives us His battle plan, but then gives us the divine power to live out His plan!  He does this by raising us up with Christ Jesus and He seats us with Him in the heavenly realms by putting His Spirit in us so that as we can live out the battle plan He has for us through active, persevering faith.  In this movement of faith, His grace not only saves us, but the riches of His grace, being greater than any riches of this world, are revealed through us for the world to see.  And it is this light of Jesus in us that destroys darkness and sets people free!

Lord, teach us your ways.  Give us the battle plan.  And may we live our lives in wholehearted devotion to you!
