Join a Group
Life Groups exist to create an environment for people to connect, share, learn, grow, and to be encouraged. We believe that life is better together, God always meant for us to be in community. We are focused on encouraging one another to follow the Comforter’s guidance and to building relationships with our Life Group families. To do this takes time to stop and know that He is God, therefore we invite everyone to join a group and plug-in.
Life Groups operate with a key verse at the forefront of our hearts
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
Identified In Christ
We are launching our new semester study for Winter/Spring 2018.
Now is the perfect time to join or host a life group.
Life Group Houses
We have three different types of Life Groups that you can join. You are free to join as many of the groups as you’d like, and are free to move between groups until you find the best fit.
Fire House groups are interest based groups designed to ignite the fire within each of us. Joining together with others around a common passion is a great way to connect and build relationships while growing closer to God. If you’re interested in connecting with other skiers, hikers, bakers, etc; contact Pastor Curt at firstname.lastname@example.org to get started.
Water House groups are focused on bringing people closer together and closer to God. These groups share meals, learn from video or written curriculum, pray for one another, and develop lasting friendships. Contact Pastor Curt at email@example.com to get started.
Acts 2:42 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
Light House groups are intended to equip believers with tools they need to minister to their neighbors, co-workers, and community. These groups will partner with church leaders to train people for the work of the ministry and to bring light to a dark world.
Eph. 4:12 “…to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”
Life Groups are one of the best ways to get connected. Whether you’re new to The Rock, or been here forever, you can get more connected with your church family by joining a group.
In Life Groups, we are establishing our spiritual muscles as we grow together. Through prayer and discussion, we are building each other up to be all that God has called us to be.
Jesus encouraged us to share what we’ve learned and experienced when He said, “Freely you’ve received; freely give.” As the members of a Life Group are strengthened, they’re invited to give to those around them; to take the leap from spectator to participant. By serving inside or outside the walls of the church, we are transforming our streets, neighborhoods, and cities for the Glory of God.

Life Group Testimonies
Biblically Returning to the Early Church
Life Groups’ ministry is God’s ministry and are built on the cornerstone, Jesus Christ. Compassion and joy are both experienced by the group; we hurt when a brother or sister suffers, and we delight when a brother or sister experiences triumph. We are fervent in remembering Christ through communion, fervent in learning God’s Word, fervent in prayer, fervent in praising and fervent in serving God. We will grow God’s kingdom through the call to fulfil the Great Commission in making disciples by equipping believers, and developing leaders from within who will demonstrate God’s Spirit and Word in love, always. We are focused on seeking the lost through a conviction to make disciples in any corner of the world. That is accomplished by sharing the Gospel and by the word of our testimony through the power of Holy Spirit. We know that we have been given the best message for the world, and we can no longer keep it a secret!
Demonstrating the Father’s Love Through Prayers and Testimonies
A Firehouse dedicates time in their activity to draw Non/New/Young or Active Christians to the group. Each group is focused on praying for each other, sharing testimonies, and praising God to glorify Him through a growing hunger for God. Firehouse groups are a safe place for non and active Christians as well as disciples to draw closer to God. Leaders will gently introduce new members to our Comforter- Holy Spirit, our Saviour- Jesus and He who willed our salvation- Father God. The life lived as a follower of Christ demonstrates its worthiness. Rev.12:11 “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
Growing Disciples of Christ and Seeking God’s Kingdom
A waterhouse is a place for people to walk in open and honest community, growing as disciples of Jesus, studying God’s word, while seeking and advancing His Kingdom. A Waterhouse’s focuses is on Acts 2:42-47: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Advancing the Kingdom of God to Our Friends and Neighbors
A Lighthouse has a primary focus on spreading the Kingdom of God to our friends and neighbors as the Great Commission encourages us to do. Lighthouses are a vehicle that enable Christians to break from the pattern of being only a hearer of God’s word and becoming disciples by boldly entering the playing field of God’s Kingdom. Lighthouses differ from other Life Groups in that their focus is on reaching lost or unchurched friends and neighbors rather than on building community within the ranks of active church members. For this reason, Light Houses tend to be a bit “messy”, with lots of vigorous debate on the issues of life and with attendees that have been disillusioned, disappointed, or even hurt through an experience in the church. If we will let Him, it is common for God to show up in power to demonstrate His love and compassion in this environment. Although a pure Lighthouse has as its primary purpose to evangelize and pursue the Great Commission, it is ideal for Waterhouse and Firehouse to have as a part of their DNA the Lighthouse vision. 1Cor. 4:20 “For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.”
