Small Group Leader FAQs

How do I find a new study?
The first step in knowing what to study is to make sure you take the time to really get to know your group. Many times the life and maturity stages of your group will dictate the direction of the next study. Edify Bookstore also has a categorized shelf designated for small group curriculum for you to view suggested studies. In addition, our web page has a curriculum section for your use as well.
What resources are available as a small group leader at The Rock?
Resources are many and varied. They include time with Betsy Falvey (Home Groups pastor), training sessions, training resources, our website, study resources in Edify Bookstore, and many more. Betsy Falvey (betsy@therock.org) or Gail McKay (gailm@therock.org) can answer any further questions in this area.
Is a pastor available to me for any questions or concerns I might have?
Absolutely. We thrive on the time we get to spend with home group leaders to get to know you better, encourage you and answer any questions you have.
Is it important to respond to emails, profile updates, and surveys?
Yes! You are doing us, and your group, a great service when you take the time to respond. The information you provide helps us to better plan resources and support for you on an ongoing basis. Please take the time to accurately fill out profile update forms when they are sent to you.
How do I know I have a balanced group and that we are in line with the vision of The Rock?
If you have a perfectly balanced group, please let us know your secrets! All kidding aside, the home groups ministry feels balanced groups reflect good proportions of relationship, study, service and outreach. Balanced groups should be experiencing tangible Christ-like transformation in their individual and corporate lives.
What is the best way to add people to my group?
The best way to add people to your group is through the already existing network of relationships your group has with others outside of your group. More often than not, a group member will know of at least one person who is looking for a home group.
